Mileage Incentives Program

Beginning in Fall 2017, RUCT has a mileage incentive program, sponsored by the Doerr Institute for New Leaders!

Once you have accrued a certain number of miles with the club, you are eligible to receive a mileage club T-shirt.

RULES:
  1. All workouts must be logged on Strava, and you must be a member of our Strava club.
  2. Running, cycling, and swimming miles count. Commuting miles count.
  3. Indoor running and cycling can count; just log the workout manually.
  4. Workouts start counting the date this program began -- August 28, 2017.
  5. Miles roll over to the next year. You can keep accruing miles until you graduate from Rice, and then, even after!
  6. You cannot receive more than one shirt at the same time; i.e. if you have accumulated 2000 total miles by the time you submit your first request, you will only receive the 2000 mile club shirt, not the 500 or 1000 mile club shirts.
HOW TO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR MILEAGE:
  1. Go to www.strava.com and log in to your account.
  2. Open this spreadsheet and make a copy of it to save for yourself.
  3. Go to "Training" --> Training Log.
  4. View "Ride" at the top left. 
  5. Scroll down to "Aug 28-Sep 3" and begin there, entering your miles into the spreadsheet.
  6. Next, view "Run" and enter your run miles.
  7. To enter your swimming miles, you have to view "Multi-sport" and hover over the blue swimming bubbles to see the yardage.
HOW TO CLAIM YOUR SHIRT: 
  1. Keep track of your miles yourself. We will not keep track of them for you; it is on the honor system. We recommend using our spreadsheet.
  2. When you have accumulated enough miles to receive one of the milestone T-shirts, please fill out this form
  3. You will then receive your T-shirt at the next club meeting.

  • Dues-paying members: FREE
  • Non-dues paying members: $20
  • Club alumni: $20
